Our hand crafted Mexican Talavera ceramics come from Central Mexico in the state of Guanajuato. Each item is hand painted making each piece one-of-a-kind. We support the artisans we work with by paying them above-market prices. We strive to make it a sustainable business for everyone involved. Plus we generate a synergy of good will and enthusiasm that shows in our company, our prices and in the consistent quality of our products.
We have three different styles to choose from:
T1 - Traditional Green
Our traditional green style combines elegance with a hint of old Mexico. (Pictured above: Medium Turtle - T1) The simple and earthy green tones are intertwined with elegant black strokes which are all hand painted by our top Mexican artisans. We pride ourselves in giving the artisans some creative freedom: In this case, the black tracing is unique making each piece one-of-a-kind.
T2 - Traditional Sunflower
Our traditional sunflower style is a vibrant addition to any home or garden. (Pictured above: Large Lizard - T2) Add color and joy with this wonderful sunflower design. Out of the three styles we carry, this is the most consistent in its design in relation to the pictures. There may be slight variations on some accents that the artisans add around the sunflower, but overall, what you see in the pictures is what you get.
MC - Multi-Color
Our Multi-Color style is our best seller. (Pictured above: Norah Sun - MC*) Many color combinations make up this style including different shades of blues and greens as well as red, orange and yellow. There are a handful of items which we only carry in our Multi-Color style. For these items, we have place an asterisk (*) next to the item’s name (for example: NSUN – MC*) which lets you know the item is only available in our Multi-Color style. The picture(s) representing the MC style will not be the exact color combinations or designs which you will be getting. We are constantly working with the artisans to emphasize and use only those colors which we find to be the most popular with our customers. At the same time, we believe it is important to have the artisans create these pieces with some creative freedom. When that balance of structure and creativity is combined, that creative spark is expressed in our products. Perhaps that is one reason why our Multi-Color style is our best seller!
